I give talks on various aspects of music, literature and art, including slides, readings, instruments and live music. Particular interests and specialities are the history of the lute as portrayed in the visual arts, the wider theme of musical instruments in art of the medieval to baroque eras, and music in renaissance literature, especially Shakespeare. These talks are especially popular with fine arts societies, history societies, and reading groups. Programmes can include live music on lutes, guitars, theorbos, cittern, gittern, recorders, flutes, and viols. Talks can be tailored to suit most age groups and levels, but are not suitable for the very young.
